OH my

Saturday was a super busy day. Up at 8 at the track by 8:40 and then spent the day writing down numbers until 6:15. It was a little chilly out so I didn't even notice that I was getting red. We leave the meet (in which my nephew placed 4th in shot, 1st in discus, and ran two really great races of 400) and head to a friends house for fun times. It was supposed to be our bunco night but we didn't have enough people so we decided that why should the ones that commit have to not have fun. So we ate, drank, chatted and then played some Wii. It was a lot of fun.

Little did we know that the next morning we would find that there had been a tornado touch down just a few miles away from where we were playing Wii. Anyway, the rains started sometime Sunday morning early after we got home. It rained and rained and rained. Then rained some more. The sirens even went off once here in town. When they did Greg and I both jumped up and ran outside. I know, not to smart but we wanted to see what was going on. It rained and rained and rained some more.

This morning I get up and I have a voicemail telling me that we are not having school due to flooding in our town. I had no idea. So I thought Greg and I were going to get to have a lazy day together but that didn't happen. He has to go to work because people are calling in freaking out about the water in their basements so I haven't seen him since he stopped by on his way to Wichita. I hope the waters have come down. Last I had heard they evacuated an apartment complex on the east side of our town. Hopefully the waters will come down and the people will get to go back to their homes. Today it might still rain but it's supposed to be nice tomorrow then rain again on Wednesday and Thursday.

Greg and his son

Greg has been very blessed to have his son move back to Kansas. This picture was from the first day that he got to come over and hang out. Such an exciting day. Last night he got the spend the first night with his dad in a really long time. We watched basketball til late, slept, got up and went to church, did a little shopping, and then came back to the house and played Wii. I just smile looking at Greg with his son and how much love he has for him. The bond between a father and son is something to marvel at.

Great Great Friends

Last week we were without power. When we finally left the house it was 53 in here and freezing. We put a whole bunch of blankets and towels in Karma's kennel and then two heavy blankets over the top. She would have been plenty warm and when we got back she didn't even seem to have noticed that it was freezing in here. Sooney was all burrowed down in the covers on the bed and seemed perfectly content to be there. So we left and went to our friend's house. I guess when you live on the north side of town you get power back before the poor people on the south side :) We had pizza and watch basketball. When our other friend let us know that power was back we came back and showered then took Karma back to our friends to have her play with their dog Jayhawk. It was very funny to watch. They played and played and ran. When we finally came back here to watch the other game on our TV I was on the computer and get a message from Mandy and she says.....Aaron is upset that Greg isn't here. I'm not fun to watch games with. (Plus they are the ones that we spent a lot of time with in Vegas and have some great memories because of it)

It is great to know that you have friends that want you to hang around and just do nothing and they are willing to let you come over and warm up instead of freezing to death. Friends have been a great plus in my life lately. Been feeling a little blue and not worthy of anything and they have been there for me. I guess it is times like these that you find out who your real friends are and who the acquaintances are that you keep that are truly friends. So thank you all for noticing and caring that something wasn't quite right with me and taking the time to ask instead of just ignoring it. It's nice to feel loved.

Because Cinda keeps begging

The top picture is of my ring for all of you that like to look at that kind of thing. The picture to the left was taken by our great friend Mandy after we got engaged. We were up in the Eiffel tower with our back towards the Ballagio. It was the most beautiful shot of the whole place. I love Vegas and would like to go there all the time.
